I had spent 25+ years in a life of pain, regrets, and shame. I hit many bottoms; but, not one of them was enough to get me to surrender. The only way I can explain coming into recovery is the fact that God came down and tapped me on the shoulder and said, “Let’s go! You’ve learned enough.”
I found my way to the Reading Hospital emergency room and told them I was willing to do anything to get better. I was put on an ambulance with the clothes on my back. And I ended up in the Horsham Clinic. I completely gave myself to God.
I have been sober now for 2 ½ years and I am living a life beyond my wildest dreams. I have “real” friends and a new family in AA. I began college on my 46th birthday (holding a 3.67GPA) I have a beautiful car and a steady job. Most importantly I have a new strong relationship with my children who are proud of me and love me and love me unconditionally.
Thank you AA.
